AK for internals, naka v3 gearbox na which is really a strong gearbox, if you like porma go for the m4, dming pwede gawin, v2 gearbox not that strong compared to v3.

Most internals are available in the market for the 2 variants, kaw nalang pumili.

m4 if your into kick *** looks and parts.so many options for external modifications(scope,rails,lasers,flashlights,grips ,etc).when it comes to brand names go for marui or JG.

ak variants are best for internal upgrades and like what sir codehaxor said v3 is stronger than v2.minimal external modifications but looks alone with real wood grips all metal body is enough for winning the hearts of ak lovers!:)

i would suggest you make some research muna, sir.... there are already plenty of threads / posts here in FAS to satisfy your cravings for more info....

your question is very common.... and we all observe that there's a group of die-hard M4 owners, and another group of die-hard AK owners.... tapos there's the inevitable die-hard "other gun" owners.... and all of them are correct in their choices....

sasakit lang ulo mo.... go for the HIMAS technique and make your own choice.... ;)

If you want the best of both worlds get a G36. AK gearbox in a shell that can be as modular as the M4. Yun nga lang mahirap maghanap yun K version and bitin ang C for some. I believe there's also a full sized one na airsoft version but no idea how much that costs. Ang maganda sa G36 may adapter na available for M4 magazines.

To my newbie bros,

in real life... these 2 guns are still being used in conflicts around the world and they're still battling it out till today. The first time they went head to head was during the vietnam war when the M16 was introduced. The M16 was accurate during long ranges because of it's smaller but faster 5.56mm Nato round BUT didn't have the knockout power of the larger but innaccurate 7.62mm Nato AK47 round.

There are lots of "gun wars" in the airsoft world. one example is the Brand wars.. TM vs JG vs CA vs G&G, etc etc etc... but this is different, this war involves "style" and most airsofters that have TM,JG,CA or G&G sort of unite when it comes to gun-types. Airsofters have certain respect for fellow M4/AK owners regardless of brand, it's a bond thats hard to put into words.

My main gun is the spetsnaz, compact, delivers lots of rounds, version3 gearbox, etc...
But you know.. maybe Dragunov_JC was right. Maybe one of the things that i love about my spetsnaz is the "tactical terrorist" look.


Conclusion: Do your homework, no shortcuts. Learn from the FAS threads and other forums out there. make sure that you choose the gun that fits your style and your budget.

It depend how you look at it.

If you intent to use it at game site, it would depend what team you are, if you belong to allied forces that uses M4 variant, then u choose M4, if you belong to Easter Block then u use AK.

As to Airsoft, AK using version 3 box is better in many ways, gear box is strong hence can sustain stiffer spring without changing gear box, feeding is more reliable, less chance for misfeed, system is more reliable, less chance for failure. But M4 variant itself is also a good AEG. So it hard to tell. I have a few units both models and both are doing fine.

sir both are in good in performance and it looks depende din dmi klase variant ng m4 as well sa Ak, depende din sa size mu or san mo gagamitin ang bengbeng mo... search muna kaw d2 sa mga threads para malaman mo ang gus2 u at compatible sa inyo at sa budget mu po... parang partner ang beng beng mu kung compatible kau mas matagal ang relationship nio hehehe:)

Based on my experience, I got an ICS/JG M4, M16, and CYMA AK 47, and AK 74U.

M4 and M16 are great for external upgrades, such as scopes, railings, etc. But as an airsoft player, you don't really need those "burloloys" since it will add bulk and weight to your gun. Mas mabigat, mahirap ikilos at madali kang mapapagod.

If you want to have an M4, i suggest get the JG M-4 carbine, not the CQB or S-System. For my preference, have the M-4 with the least accessories, or other say it, base gun lang. Yung mga scopes, red dots, bihira mo lang yan magagamit kasi iba naman ang ballistics ng airsoft. Isa pa, mas realistic sa akin yung base gun lang, kasi parang gov't issue ang dating, lalo na pag complete BDU ka. M-16 is also great, and personally one of my favorites, kasi yung range tsaka accuracy.

AK variants, on the other hand, are robust and much better to upgrade. I use the CYMA brand for AK. Mura lang i-upgrade. A PDI-190 set-up (which cost around 3,000) will shoot your bb's to 470 to 480fps. Another advantage of the AK is the magazine capacity.

Either way, which ever gun you have is for your own decision to make. Not all airsoft players have the same opinion with regards to guns...it is still left to the individual. Better yet, borrow a gun muna, test it sa game, then decide which suits your needs.

Another reminder, mas pagandahin mo yung internals mo, kesa sa accessories. Buy a good battery, gear set, piston body, and even a motor, kasi jan naka-rely ang performance ng gun. Do not get intimidated by guns having 500+ fps. Have a gun that runs on 430 to 480 lang. Less maintenance pa.

Up to you na yan. Both guns are easy to use and modify. The M4 though can be fun to customize with all the external upgrades in shops. Versatile pa yung M4. You can snipe,assault, etc.

I have seen this type of posts almost every other 2 weeks & almost every airsoft site all over the universe.
Try them both before making any decision, they are both good aegs! I have both M4 & AK actually.
The ver3 GB is very easy to take out, and the takedown of an AK is very simple once you get use to it. I still have no idea how to take down the M4:(
Shooting with an AK is kinda like holding a baseball bat..very straight forward with high accuracy. M4 is a bit heavy for me still :(

I started with collecting guns but I've only started playing several months back. I own an MP5, 2 M4s (S-System na JG and Seals CQB na CA), WE na GBB na 1911, Bar-10 na Sniper Riflle, and a SCAR na Di-Boys, and an M83 na nasa hiraman. I've been through these guns but my favorite is my Classic Army M4 CQB na Seals. It's the one I modified to the most. It's very modifiable and even out of the box it's playable.

But I think it all comes down to your preference in terms of looks, modifiability, price, preferred brand. If your looking for a new gun I suggest you try to learn more about the sport first. And I'd suggest you buy a cheap and realiable gun at first. A Jing Gong S-System is something I'd recommend. It's cheap and reliable. But if you want to go all out in terms of price a Systema M4 would be the best. Systemas cost round 6o thou. Jing Gongs cost round 4-6 thou. If you want an in betweener a Classic Army or GnP M4 would cost round 15thou. This is assuming that you want an M4.

As for the AKs I suggest you call Storm's Airsoft Shack (SAS) in Metrowalk: 4736142 or 382-6877. Bilog aka Jason the resident gunsmith is very knowledgable in terms of AKs. He has one that costs around 60 thousand pesos (which is by the way for sale).

ak and m4? i have both variant, before i always use my m4's... pogi kasi eh... pero when it comes to do or die bakbakan to the max... ak gamit ko... reliable... hi cap... more peace of mind na hindi mawawasak GB kahit bumabad ka.... after using both variant... im leaning towards my ak's na... i have a tm fullbutt and a spetz... wala eh.... masarap talaga gamitin... yung mga m4 ko pang photo ops nalang...:D

inis lang ako sa ak pag ma baging at masukal ang gamesite... takaw sabit... hirap pag naka prone...i switch to shorty mags pa pag ganun na sitwasyon..

You can also consider the kind of mask or goggles you will be wearing. AKs are most adaptable to any kind of face protection because of the way its bat is designed. As for the M4s, hirap mag site with ordinary masks.

AEG must be used only in a regulated/authorized gamesites. And if you're asking for AEG to be used on streets, there is NONE (NADA). Wala po. Walang pong AEG na pwede gamitin sa kalsada.

an AK is the type that you can marry and go home to every night..

ACM M4s na unang labas nasa low to mid 300fps lang. Yun first release na S System nasa 420fps while the new ones are 450 and some are even said to reach 480fps. Pero they settle soon to a lower fps due to the low quality springs. Mabilis mag decompress lalo na kung nakakalimutan i-rest.

its a conversion kit, (the first sr47 i saw are conversion kits, haven't seen complete aeg variants ootb) meaning you buy the kit and have an ak aeg before you arrive at that.

I have both, a CA m15A4 sportline as well as the TM Ak47.

Based on my experience, both guns shoot well, But the AK has longer barrel... so it will shoot longer and straighter.

But bottom line is, it basically depends on what look you want to achieve.

If you wanna look like eastern European/Russian/Taliban, go for the AK!

If you want US/PMC/Action Hero look, M4 all the way!

Nakadecide na ata yung thread starter, Spetz ang kinuha.

For me I own 2 m4s and an AK. I like both models, depende sa mood at sa lugar na paglalaruan kung ano ang gagamitin ko sa tatlo. Para na din di ako magsisi na "sayang dinispose ko AK for an M4" when I miss AK at "sayang dinispose ko M4 for an AK" when I miss my M4.

1 m4 ko upgraded to SP130 465fps, para sa friendly game (and stock gb might not last on higher springs eh, I did all upgrades myself), modified to fixed m16 butt

1 m4 ko galing sa basura lahat ng parts, assembled from scratch, patay na M4 binuhay ko, pinutol ko pa barrel to be slightly shorter than a CQBR na M4 for friendly CQB game because very short at not high fps, wala pa 350 fps last chrono (stock GB na sira, nirepair ko lang yung reversal latch hole using a defective v3 tappet plate carved to hold the latch, other internal parts kinahoy sa ibang m4's hahaha)

1 AK, upgraded to the best the stock gbox might hold, SP160 and bore up...for open fps games, for sniping mode, this one di ako nag-upgrade dahil mahal ang parts baka mali magawa ko, maintenance na lang ginagawa ko by myself sa internals.

I like the AK, maraming bala . . . malakas v3 gbox . . . simple lang, no accessories best look na agad para dun . . . bad *** look, para kang tao na walang sasantuhin :icon_razz:

I like the M4, looks good kahit walang accessories, can look way better with accessories pero I choose no accessories, friendlier look, para kang government element :icon_cool:

I have to AKs, yung Cyma AK74U which is the "Binladen" (cm.035), in stock form it reaches 365fps, gusto ko to kasi all metal and wood constructions, retractable butt din kaya pwede pang field and CQB. My other AK is the Cyma cm.036 riffle, stock form reaches 480fps, oh san ka pa, stock palang yan. Chrono yan sa Camp urban zone. Madali din upgrade ang AK para sakin, hi capp mag pa kasama.

actually this question is very hard to answer.. obviously the opinions of others are somehow bias.. i have an hk416 and i'm very much contented with it but i also like other ak variants such as spetz, ak47 all wood and dragunov. yet other m4's also makes my tongue stick out of my mouth.. both are very good competitors! anyway, i'll just give my honest thoughts.. first, m4 is much easier to handle for me. i'm pretty much comfortable with it than an AK.. of course i can not fully support this statement since i don't own an AK.. i only use AK's when my friends lend me theirs.. second, performance wise i think AK is better.. with bad a$$ power it can send regards to your foes if you know what i mean..:icon_wink: but i'm not saying that m4's are somewhat weak.. remember, fps depends on your set up so power of the gun really depends on the specs.. oh, don't forget the 600 rounds magazine! one big lead for the AK! hehe! this are some of the reasons why i like AK's. thirdly, modification of looks.. hmm, m4 parin! hehe! with the railings and all the abubot's you can add.. pogi tlga m4 hehe.. ang AK kc macho ang dating pero mas ok sakin ang swat look eh hehe! there i gave my thoughts na.. it's up to u parin nmn yan eh kung m4 or ak ka.. i just hope all of our suggestions, opinions may help you in your problem.. hehe gudluck on picking!:icon_biggrin:

If you want to have many accessories (burloloys) and add on stuffs then you might want to go with the M4 or kung medyo simplistic naman ang gusto mo ehh di mag AK.

If you're going to ask my personal opinion, I'd go for an AK variant, maybe a 74u or the AKMS.

There are different aspects that we look at to say which is better. I've been an M4 and an AK user as well. Both guns are beatiful.
1. Looks:
M4 looks purdy and tactical wile AK guns more often than not looks plain nasty.

2. Customizing the gun:
M4 is really flexible with add ons and stuff, while AK variants seem a bit limited as opposed to the M4. You have to go to further lengths to customize your AK.

3. Gun power:
For increasing FPS, AK variants are preferable, hands down. It's bec of the ver 3 gearbox.

4. Handling:
M4 variants are rather flimsy8 as compared to AK variants, esp the plastic body AEGs. The ak variants tend to be heavier for full metal variants. I gotta hand it to the AK though for being a more sturdy model as opposed to the M4 where you gotta be careful in handling it during games.

when you got to hold one youll feel it is a very solid built AEG compared to an M4 (from experience) too many part sticking out that often when your not carefull(even in full metal versions) would break immidiately... (3 of my friends had their M4s for a week, kulang kulang na kagad yung sight nabali kagad and some other sticking out metal)...

I'd defenitely suggest an AK! performance at its best!

SPETSNAZ dominates CQB. if you compare the M733 with the spets... the spets has 300% more bbs per mag.
Has a 7mm REINFORCED version3 gearbox ... stock!
lightweight and compact, costs less and much much easier to upgrade and maintain.

If you're serious about your game... AKs will provide you with all the firepower you'll need.

Have the feel of both, then you decide..there are many factors in choosing your rifle, here are some:

1. Familiarity I go for the M variants, because I am accustomed with them, probably due to the American influence here in the country. When I hear of assault rife, top of mind is a Colt M16...

2. Looks : I find the M variants sleeker and more appealing to my taste. However, I find the AK more solid both in terms of built and appreance. Ika nga "astig" ang dating ng AK.

3. Feel : My shooting orientation finds the M variants more suitable for me. i find the selector switch friendlier than that of an AK. I also like the orientation of the pistol grips better than that of the AK.

4. Upgrades (aesthetics): You can easily dress-up an M variant, depends on what you like. If you prefer otherwise, you can opt to go for the "no frills" M1A1 VN.


These are just factors you might want to consder, but at the end of the day, you go with what you really desire. As a test, go to any airsoft shops and your emotions will lead you to the one that your prefer, ika nga ikaw ang tatawagin nung baril na gusto mo..

Enjoy it, I might be wrong but for me the happiest part in buying is the choosing part. :icon_biggrin:

It's still up to you sir to decide..but everything is dependent on your type of game play..if you like cqb games look for an aeg that is fitted for the cqb.were you will consider some important things..load of the magazine that it can carry in one mag,manueverability of the unit itself,since we are playing airsoft games..this are the things we should not miss.

Looks will just follow..simplicity and perfomance goes first..thats why i got myself an AK Spetz..hehehe.thou i owned a m4 before..But if you like to dress up your unit m4 would be the unit to you...And one thing spend wisely and enjoy everything..:icon_biggrin:

He he, very addictive kasi ang M4 series for dressing up but I believe it all boils down on discipline. Ang trend sa team I go to play with when I could is simplicity. Kahit sa competitive events ay hindi lumalagpas sa M120 level ang spring not unless the situation or event demands otherwise. Simple rin ang externals even M4 users. Just a good grip sa forehand and pistol and a good buttstock. Sa internals ubusin ang budget dapat. The best internal combo to make it perform superbly. The same discipline na mabigay agad sa isang AK owner kaya naman gawin rin sa M4.

Admittedly, some improvements kasi can be done on the externals ng M4 to make it better for the user. Like replacing the sights with better ones, ditto for the stock and grips and maybe the body to make it stronger and resist wear and tear. Yun realism factor like a working bolt release is nice too.

Ako, yun CASV ko inalisan ko ng rails sa harap except for where the vertical grip would be. No doodads not even a sling. Extras niya lang ay flip up sights. Swapped my pistol lang for a Beta C for it kaya yun lang ang abubot bought for it. Mas maarte pa ang AK ko as swapped a lot of items just to begin a RPK project.

Like what they all said, kung gusto mo ng gwapong baril go for M4. Pero kung gusto mo ng magandang internal like V.3 then go for AKs

i got my second m4... (stubby killer!) this solidifies na talagang m4 fanatic ako...

i was choosing spetz and actually leaning towards it... because naman sa internals palang (ver3 gearbox) upgradability, durability, panalo spetz pero nung nahawakan ko na yung stubby killer.... poooooooooooof! nahypnotized ako hahaha... can't..... resist...... temptation..... kaya yun napili ko for cqb (450fps limit) games..

btw sir alen upgraded it last night and it clocks around 430fps max...

i know i made the wrong choice pero who can blame me... i am an m4 fanatic! hehe true blooded m-force hehe

if you like both, get both.

magkano nalang high end these days, 15k-22k each, with an investment of 50k, and a good eye for detail you can select the best of both worlds, high end pa.

OR for a small investment of 20k you can get both din, ACM naman, and upgraded!

performance-wise, the AK rules all, just like its reliability in the real world.
for looking tacticool, i'd have to say the M4 wins with a lot of aftermarket externals.

(not to say that the AK looks ugly, i actually love how badass it looks, and not to say that m4 aegs are totally ****e in performance)

but... if you really have to choose, then it comes down to what matters most for you.

Difference in looks:

M4 - You need to accessorize (to the max) to beautify it.

AK - If you accessorize it to the max, it wont look beautifull.

Kung sa babae pa... ang m4 maganda lang kung meh make-up at sexy na damit. Like most actresses right now :icon_rolleyes: Ang AK naman ay natural na maganda at sexy kaya lang di bagay sa make-up at sobrang arte na damit.

Looks: M4 ang preferred ng karamihan but I hate M4s/M16s without carry handles. The AKM and AK74 looks cool at hindi magpapatalo sa M4. The classic AK in metal and wood also looks great.


Handling: Depende sa langth and kung metal o plastic body. Generally, metal for realism /playing and plastic for playing kasi magaan.

GO FOR THE AK PRE! I have both M4 and Ak47, but I fell inlove more with my new AK coz its so accurate. I got mine at Vincent's Airsoft shop and it's 470fps out of the box already. Before I bought it, I asked kung ano fps nya at sabi ng sales lady mga 430fps then I said can we chrono it first just to make sure its not under 400fps. After na chrono namin using Guarder pumalo sya ng 470fps. When we chrnoed it again, it went to 475fps kaya sabi ko I'm buying this baby right now. Mabilis din daw ito palakasin sabi ng mga ka team ko pero gagasgasin ko muna yung stock spring ko before upgrading it to a more deadly fps.hehehe

For me I'd prefer the M4 or M16A3+ because it just looks modern to me; not too retro/classic, but not too new-age like a SCAR or AUG or anything like that.

Plus, an M4 or M16 gives a connotation that you're one of the good guys, unlike with the AK which is mostly used by rebels or the Russians (hehe, no offense :icon_lol:).

Another thing I like with the M4 is that you can attach things such as scopes, launchers, or grips to it soo easily and almost flawlessly. You can put railings on an AK too, but it just doesn't feel right. An AK was made to look plain and as is for me anyway.
