Best to compare is to borrow another chrono used for airsoft. Use both on the same aeg. if the readings are the same, probably, the paintball chrono can be used for airsoft as well.

But this is just my theoretical observation since I havent encountered nor used a paintball chrono yet.

If the sensors can "see" the BB.. and the chrono in the picture registers a reading when a 6mm BB is fired through it.. then it can be used.. Velocity readings would not differ just because of the smaller projectile size - the sensing/timing circuits are essentially the same for most basic chrono designs.

..I havent encountered nor used a paintball chrono yet.
Oh yes you have. The Chrony F1 we use.. is a paintball model. Of course, Chrony is a "shoot over" model.. while the one pictured above is muzzle attached (similar to the Combro and Guarder Speeder 2000).

Shooting Chrony markets essentially the exact same chrono for different uses; real steel, archery, paintball, airsoft.. even slingshots - the only real difference is in the included accessories (relative to the intended use).
