Hoooyaaah Gentlemen! :icon_biggrin:

I just wanted to share with you this idea of reinforcing our magazine "coil pin" so you guys will not have any problems whenever your mag is suddenly emptied while firing or while you are emptying ur mags.

Normally, the coil pin looks like this on stock mags. Notice the object where the coil spring is secured at the center? That is the "coil pin".

This is what happens when the mag is suddenly emptied:

Becuse the coil is made of a very flexible yet hard type of metal, it is likely to create a breakaway effect when the mag is suddenly emptied and the above pic is an example of the result. :icon_cry:

The Solution: Very simple! :icon_lol:
Recognize this?

This is a spring right? The spring that we normally see on houses attached on doors so doors will close by itself. :icon_lol:

What i did is i just cut one section or part (i dont know the correct term :icon_biggrin:) from the spring and it looks like this:

Insert it on top of the pin and push slowly until it will give a firm grip on the coil pin. So, here's the result:

nice guide! question lang, does this mod in anyway improve the performance of the magazine or is it just to prevent possible breakage of the coil pin?

it'll just reinforce the coil pin thereby prolonging the life of the magazine and won't affect nor improve perfomance of the magazine, me thinks

@ iceman5210 - it is only to reinforce the coil pin sir as what sir tirog states...

Won't superglue do the same thing? Ano po magiging problema kung glue lang iyong spring? Mas madali kasing i-glue kaysa sa i-modify. Pero di ko pa nasusubukan, baka nga sablay iyong idea na i-glue.

Thanks guys! @ sir papahippo - Ok din naman cguro ang superglue sir although i haven't tried it yet... One thing lang cguro is that the superglue will not last long since this part of the mag has lots of movements, baka mag give way din cya in the long run. Cguro if epoxy/devcon ang gamitin pwede pero mahirapan ka na if incase you need to reverse or replace ur coil spring.

sakin sir macgyver i am using my old PC housing. cut ko lang a small piece just to envelope it around the base and apply a very small amount of glue to make it more fixed to it's place. it looks like this:
