1) The GunNut (Syn: Nut)

- To this type, The Gun is EVERYTHING. He/she doesn't care about uniforms, gear, to him/her these are "superfluous" to the Holy Grail of having The Best Gun In The Whole World.
- Issues: FPS, ROF, Range, Groupings, Accuracy, etc
- Conversant in: tappet plates, shims, bushings, piston heads and sundry cylinders
- Haunts: Why, the Technical Section, of course
- Often heard saying: "Kailangan mo kase ng tight barrel na 6.x kung gusto mo ng increased accuracy...pero yung gearbox mo, teka, anong version ba yan...kase may issues sa...
- Distinguishing characteristic: Bores his/her girlfriend/boyfriend/wife/husband to tears

2) The Gwapormer (Syn: Gear*****/Geardo)

- To this type, The Uniforms and The Gear are EVERYTHING. Doesn't care much about guns and hardware, sometimes forgets those are essential in this hobby first off
- Issues: "Does Delta wear/use this? How about CIA spooks in 'A-Stan?', what do they wear/use?"; "Is an MP5 appropriate with a FAST kit?"
- Conversant in: Anything "SpecOps"
- Haunts: Why, the Unifs and Gears Classifieds, of course
- Often heard saying: Mag BlackHawk ka na lang kase okaya SDS, kapag nag Kruks ka okaya TacOps parang...nakakahiya
- Distinguishing characteristic: Bores his/her girlfriend/boyfriend/wife/husband to tears


3) The Performer (Syn: Kid)

To this type, The Game is EVERYTHING. To hell with looking right/well, to hell with having the best gun in the whole wide universe
Issues: Game scenarios, rules, violators, kills, almost-kills, frustratingly-unadmitted kills, more kiills
Conversant in: Field, CQB "tactics," Hand signals, Sniper voodoo, Rifleman tips
Haunts: Any section of FAS he/she can get "Battle Tips" from
Often heard saying: If you knew better, you wouldn't have compromised your position too early. A good sniper knows the value of <pause> patience
- Distinguishing characteristic: Bores his/her girlfriend/boyfriend/wife/husband to tears

4) The History Nut/Collector (Syn: Reenactor/MilSim enthusiast)

To this type, history/accuracy is EVERYTHING
Issues: "Correct" dated Uniforms and Gear
Conversant In: Everything from the Greek Phalanx, the Roman short sword (Gladius Hispaniensis as he/she refers to them) up to the US Pacific Fleet's tactics...in fact, continuously makes analogies about Roman legions and the US Seventh Fleet as "The highest/most lethal form of military formations in world history."
Haunts: The Uniforms and Gear classifieds, of course, with the extra request that items for sale be "dated."
Often heard saying: That kit is just...wrong. The Japanese in Burma didn't use those... Or variations of the same theme
- Distinguishing characteristic: Bores his/her girlfriend/boyfriend/wife/husband to tears

As of 22:55, 15-17-07, Gwapormers and Performers dead even in the poll (expected, of sorts). Of course the History Nuts are in last place. Surprising how the Gun Nuts aren't having a strong showing (unexpected). Then again why am I making this sound "accurate?" in the least hahah. It's just for kicks.

I guess it's obvious I wrote it in a spirit of "Hmm...what's a nice thread to post that will, even for a short while, stop us from taking ourselves and others too seriously, and help us laugh at ourselves some?" (always a good thing). I also tried to focus on the more positive? aspects of the sport, and not dwell on the "Undesirable" types (sobrang hahaba, madaming tatamaan, tapos mao-offend, tapos kailangan sagutin na 'di kita inaaway', etc, etc..." Hassle lang.

hmmm... thinking about it, i'm a hybrid of the first and third types on the list, i believe... i usually fret when my guns don't fire (or even sound) the way I expect it to be, and would sometimes "step back" and "debrief" myself on what happened in every game -- assess the coulda, woulda, shoulda of the game
