another looming threat to our ersop community

Last week we all were shocked and sadenned when we heard Sen. Villar taking on our beloved AEGs/Sport when he said on live tv that he was moving for the ban of Replica guns, because it is being used daw by lawless elements for there heists.

Today when i opened the newspaper it seems he has filed a bill already, Senate Resolution 221, an inquiry into the proliferation of realistic looking toy guns (A5 at phil inquirer)

Let us Unite against this clear grandstanding act of one..

IMHO- if i would look at it simple lang ang gusto nya, mag senate inquiry, so susuyuin sya ng ating community at sa bandang huli he would be the champion of our cause or sport rather.. haaay.. building clout for 2010 huh.. (reverse psycho style) - oh well, thats just what a Political analyst like me smells..

Who in his right mind will use an airsoft gun for a heist or a holdup?

Even a "paltik" will be far superior than an all out AEG.

Yeas, but a common citizen wouldn't be able to distinguish the real deal from a RIF (Realistic imitation firearm).

He can investigate all he wants, ban airsoft again (just like what happened before), and the community will just go underground again, like before.

if Sen Villar wants to ban airsoft totally, then he doesnt have the idea how big the community is, and how big he might lost in 2010...

on the otherhand, this is yet another challenge for our unity as a community to defend our sport...sayang naman yung ilang taong pinaghirapan ng mga kasama natin pa malegalize and airsoft, tpos dahil lang sa ambition ng isang tao at kapirasong papel lang, mababalewala ang lahat...

I looked up to Sen as a "future leader" of the country and has high respect for him. But if that's the way he judge or rule on issues, i have to think it over... He must look at the millions of players who were brought to 2gdr in one way or another by this kind of sport and for whatever reasons the airsoft players have in mind for joining airsoft games. He should not compromise the millions (players/voters) just because of one bad incident caused by a scalawag! You can do better than that Sir! Why not focus your efforts muna on the loose firearms including the paltiks? You can save lives and earn votes from people saved from the harms these loose firearms can do but PLEEEEASE not with our airsoft... Corruption in the bureaucracy... yun muna kasi yun ang dahilan kung bakit marami ang nagugutom. Sir sumali ka minsan sa airsoft game... more better than sauna and its a good exercise also that will help make your body stronger-a good preparation for your Presidency bid soon!

afterall, all agree on what we all think about him.

whether he runs for president in 2016 or whenever
for me, is not the issue for airsofters.

its what we can do to make airsoft "legal".

perhaps, our airsoft elders/leaders can submit an
addendum/proposed draft amendment to the law
covering our airsoft to the concerned congress/senate committees.

just a thought from a newbie (1 mo only in airsoft)
