Default Piston 'saver'

Follow the link above and see what you think. Personally I would say that this is a good idea, if 2nd to last tooth is shaved, and of course the right thickness of the saver is used.

i've done this mod on my high ROF set-ups. It just improves the engagement of the piston with the sector gear - known as the AOE mod. (angle of engagement).

No need to buy fancy parts. I've used washers from hardware stores, to trimmed plexi glass. You can also use the gaskets for bathroom shower assemblies which can be found in your local handyman, tru value, ace hardware type of stores.

They have this in Japan. They call it a "high-speed damper". It seems to be made of rubber.

remember it should be between 3-4mm thick... or get 3-4pcs 1mm thick rings... then shim it according to your piston teeth engagement sa sector gear...

tried this on my two aegs, 120 spring, stock piston body, 6 months. i used a 5 centavo coin. just make the hole a little bigger to fit the piston head. i also shaved both faces a little. costs around 5 cents

did this mod lately.... and i noticed after some analysis.....
its a form of short stroking!
upon full draw of piston, pistonhead is a bit further in.
meaning piston head reaches cylinder head faster, and secotr gear engages a bit later.
but with this mod, although it has lower air volume, adds spring compression due to the spacer.... bale na precompress and spring.
