It's ludicrous to pay such amounts that they want people to pay. A toy gun to be registered for thousands and some don't see the potential danger in this? You know how some of the authorities are, have you forgetten their stupid raids in the past? rading gamesite and shops and for the sake of money, putting up illegal checkpoint solely to entrap airsofters, etc...

The potential to abuse has exponentially multiplied. What the airsoft IRR is protecting is now what this house bill wants to destroy. The biggest danger is the money factor. Since they know that there is a greater number who will not be able to afford to register, the void filled by this potenital disaster will greatly affect us.

Join moves agaisnt this bill. Be as vocal and visible as possible in your own way....be it petitions, online blogs and by even talking about amoung yourselves is a good start. But we should not stop here. I am waiting for other moves that others can suggest.

I can't picture a bunch of us in jail for toy guns. it's simply stupid. Also it is clearly a money making venture by those crooked politicians, GMA and her evil horde.

Its funny how airsoft has its origins in the banning of possession of real firearms.

Airsoft came to be created because possession of real-steel guns is not allowed. Necessity, being the mother of all invention, drove the Japanese to create replicas so that they could still enjoy shooting.

If I am not mistaken, Airsoft was played underground prior to it being legalized. The way I see it, if we are driven underground again, the sport won't quite die out but a lot of people will move on to other sports. I myself will move on to archery or if I'm lucky enough to leave the country, will continue airsoft where I go, if it is legal.

Bogs, let me know how I can help.

unfortunately, the IRR, being an executive issuance, cannot effectively amend a law.

we need to exercise sobriety in addressing the issues, let us let cooler heads prevail kasi kung bubula agad bibig natin sa galit and will post uncalled for comments tapos makikita ng public, and baka mamaya mga staff nung proponents, we are conveying the wrong impression and baka lalo lang mabibigyan ng rason ang paghihigpit.

wag natin sila bigyan ng impression na basag-ulo tayo tulad nung kamote na nanutok sa bar. let us show them that we are professionals who deserve to be heard.
I guess the IRR does give us a false sense of security re our airsoft guns being registered and therefore 100% legal. I did recall arguments that only congress can make airsoft legal and maybe this bill is it. I hope the bill can be posted in full so we can see what's really in it (as there were posts of not so favorable provisions).

And yes, a low profile lobby of sorts may be more effective than noise. Ayaw din ng politicians ang napapahiya kahit na yung iba ay nakakahiya.

In the meantime, I will be carrying this 6mm aeg with 300ips (inch per second).

The way i see it, this may trim down the population in the airsoft community. Private games will be the hot ticket of the town. Gamesite will be very confidential. Maybe some jologs will be gone.

Correct me if I am wrong, I checked HB 6658 in the website of congress. It was filed during the 12th Congress and the title is "AN ACT DECLARING PUBLIC LANDS IN BARANGAYS MANLAYAG, MAN-ILAN AND TABUAN OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF TUKURAN, PROVINCE OF ZAMBOANGA DEL SUR AS OPEN TO DISPOSITION" and the author is Cong. Mujiv Hataman.

Are house bill numbers unique all throughout or only on the congress it was filed, i.e. 10th, 11th, 12th congress etc.? I cannot find any HB 6658 in the 13th nor 14th congress.

pakingsiyets!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I guess this will also lessen a few "unwanteds" in the airsoft community
